Colorless and transparent liquid (when high-purity), may appear light blue due to trace impurities, with a very high pH value (1% solution pH is about 13.5). It should be avoided from contact with acids, metals (such as aluminum and zinc), and organic matter. It should be sealed and stored to prevent the absorption of CO₂ in the air to form potassium carbonate (K 2CO3). High temperatures may accelerate decomposition, and it is recommended to store at a temperature of ≤ 40 ℃.
Store in a cool, dry, and well ventilated warehouse, away from sources of fire and heat. The humidity inside the warehouse should not exceed 85%, and the packaging must be sealed to prevent moisture. It should be stored separately from flammable (combustible) materials, acids, etc., and avoid mixing storage. The storage area should be equipped with suitable materials to contain leaked materials.
